"The best Town Square in Texas"…
Granbury’s folklore and Texas history serve as a great attraction for visitors, and area celebrations, special events and annual parades draw thousands of people to shop, dine and join in the festivities. The vintage charm and authentic architecture, coupled with the wide array of shopping, dining and entertainment venues, were all reasons that readers of Texas Highway Magazine named the historic Granbury Square “the best town square in Texas.” The restored 1886 Opera House offers live theatrical performances, and the landscape is dotted with turn-of-the-century Victorian-style homes and bed & breakfast hideaways. Adding to the beauty of the area is Lake Granbury, which was created in1969 by damming the Brazos River.
Located in Hood County, Granbury is a dynamic, growing community located approximately 30 miles southwest of Fort Worth, Texas on US Highway 377. This thoroughfare provides a direct link to Interstate 20 and Dallas/Fort Worth. FM 51 connects Granbury with Interstate 20 and Weatherford, and SH 144 connects Granbury to Highway 6 which links to Interstate 35.
US Highway BUS 377 leads right into the historic Granbury Square and Granbury Square Plaza is located at the corner of Pearl Street and Crockett Street.
